Illustration can really get in your vein when you have just the right inspiration.

I was chatting with a friend and she was using a statement as inspiration for an assignment of her own:

“You crushed my heart with your stiletto and played tidily winks with my soul.”

Thankfully she was not referring to me.

We discussed ways that she that might approach the project and I developed an illustration for my own exercise. I have since decided I would look into applying this illustration, and others like it, to apparel (t-shirts, hats, etc).

Freelance design is often so competitive that it can stagger the growth of your aesthetic. Mentoring and assisting others frees up your own creativity, or inspires the work of others.
